About
Yeshiva High School of Ottawa (YHSO) is the only Jewish high school in the community, dedicated to providing an outstanding Torah and general education for both our boys’ and girls’ divisions. We cultivate an environment that fosters inclusivity, academic excellence, character development, and a deep connection to Jewish identity and values.
Mission
Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of Torah, learning, and personal growth while equipping our students with the knowledge and skills to thrive as committed Jews in the modern world. We strive for excellence in both Judaic and general studies, nurturing intellectual curiosity, ethical leadership, and a sense of responsibility to the people of Israel and the broader society.
Core Values
1
Academic Excellence
YHSO offers a rigorous curriculum culminating in an Ontario Secondary School Diploma approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education, with alumni going on to study at yeshivot and universities worldwide. Through rigorous academics, meaningful Jewish learning, and a supportive community, we ensure that our students grow into proud, knowledgeable, and engaged Jewish leaders.

2
impact
At YHSO, students are encouraged to engage deeply with their community. Current students are taking on leadership roles in synagogue youth groups, performing cantorial responsibilities, assist with Kashrut supervision, volunteer at Hillel Lodge eldercare, and tutor peers. Alumni continue this legacy of service, taking on leadership roles within the Ottawa Jewish community and beyond.

3
continuity
The high school years are a critical period for Jewish identity formation, shaping a young person’s connection to their heritage, values, and community for life. At YSHO we provide a safe and immersive environment where students strengthen their Jewish identity and build a strong foundation for the future.
